It will improve reliability of stator and open the way for further amperage and voltage upgrades. Or if you are already upgraded to other controller ( it will burn out it if pushed long enough and total power is lower due to temperature impedance ) or want to push even more amperage like 60A, 70A + reliably.

You can run  70A+ into much more safely and with a bit less power consumption. And if you have stronger gear you can add even more. With factory config at higher current you can expect burned stator at some point or/and failed magasin nylon gear due to heat, and magnet failure. And if you are looking for a new stator, do yourself a favour, dont put stock one. Premium very expensive materials will be used.  difference in what power you will be able to run without problems is large. There is significant improvement in temperature. Check my controller listing it shows more details. Testing shows that it can hold 80v 5kw load at 15c ambient till 120C for 1.5min. with fw, without fw it will be noticeably more time. and it also drops temperature much faster. If youre serious about power and not just some stock forum warrior with own special genius methods what trick to use how to program stock controller and other nonsense its for you. Seriously of you have stock, 50a controller, or bac 855 you will be able to go faster longer, i personally wouldnt use without it . In fact now a stator is unlikely to be damaged but rotor can be.
